Privacy Policy

BoxSeat is a cricket scores app. We respect your privacy and are committed to transparency about how your data is handled.

Data We Collect

No account is required. BoxSeat works fully signed out — your followed teams and preferences are stored only on your device, and no personal information is collected.

Optional Account

If you choose to sign in with Google or Apple — entirely optional, and only to sync your followed teams and settings across your devices — we store: the stable account identifier your provider gives us (not your password or any provider credentials), your email address if your provider shares it with us, and the teams/settings you've chosen to follow. This data is used solely to keep your preferences in sync between devices, is never sold or shared with advertisers, and is deleted if you ask us to (privacy@boxseatapp.com). Signing out does not delete your local, on-device preferences.

Analytics

The iOS app uses TelemetryDeck for anonymous, privacy-first analytics. TelemetryDeck does not track individual users and does not use device fingerprinting. Analytics data includes aggregate usage patterns (e.g., which screens are viewed most) and cannot be linked to any individual. You can learn more at telemetrydeck.com/privacy.

Push Notifications

If you enable notifications for a match, your device push token is sent to our server to deliver score updates. Push tokens are stored only for the duration of the match and are deleted afterwards. We do not use push tokens for marketing or advertising.

Live Activity

BoxSeat uses Apple's Live Activity and Dynamic Island features to display live scores on your Lock Screen. Live Activity tokens are used solely for delivering real-time score updates and are not shared with third parties.

Local Storage

Your preferences — followed teams, favorite matches, and display settings — are stored locally on your device. This data is never transmitted to our servers unless you choose to sign in (see "Optional Account" above), in which case only your followed teams and settings — never your browsing history or match views — are synced.

Third-Party Data

BoxSeat fetches publicly available cricket data via the SportsMonks Cricket API (through the BoxSeat backend) for scores, schedules, and statistics. No personal data is shared with these providers.

No Advertising

BoxSeat does not display ads and does not share data with advertising networks.

Children's Privacy

BoxSeat does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The app displays publicly available sports data only.
